Best Budget Pour Over Setup Under Fifty Dollars

· May 2, 2026

You do not need a hundred dollars of gear to brew excellent pour-over coffee. Fifty dollars buys a capable dripper, a scale, and everything else you need to start brewing well today.

The dripper is the heart of the setup. A plastic V60-style cone costs under ten dollars and brews as well as its ceramic cousins, since plastic holds heat better than you might think.

A cheap scale with a timer adds precision for another fifteen dollars. Paper filters, a simple kettle, and a bag of fresh beans round out the kit with room to spare.

The only place not to skimp is the grinder, but even a decent hand grinder fits the budget if you buy used or shop carefully. Fresh-ground beans are the biggest single upgrade you can make.

Start with the plastic dripper and a hand grinder, then add the scale when you want repeatability. You can brew genuinely good coffee from day one without breaking the bank.

Spend the fifty wisely and you will brew coffee that beats most cafes, for roughly the price of a week of their lattes. The entry point to great coffee has never been lower.
